When to go

The "peak" season is mid-December through New Years, and the charter rates are at their highest during this period. The winds are usually a little stronger (18-22 knots), and a northern swell often develops that affects the anchorages exposed to the north.

The "mid high" season starts after New Year's and runs through mid-April. This is the most popular time to sail the Caribbean and get away from the winter weather in the north.

The “mid low” season runs from mid-April to July, as the weather warms up in the northern climes and people begin their Spring activities. It is an excellent time to take advantage of lower charter rates.

August through November is the "low" period and coincides with the hurricane season (September - October are the most active for storms).

Sometimes within these seasons the charter companies will offer special discount weeks. If you have flexibility in your schedule, let me know and I will try to find the best deal for you.

To make sure the boat you want is available, it is best to make your reservations from 4 to 6 months in advance.
